The World Really Is Your Oyster 🦪

Staying in coliving spaces has been a real eye-opener for many different reasons, but one of the main things I’m seeing is just how many ways there are to make money while you’re travelling the world.

Even just a few years ago, this would be a dream that was too far out of reach for most people. After all, if you’re ‘chained to your desk’ in an office all week, there’s no way you can travel while you work.

But since COVID, more and more people are working remotely and more and more people are choosing the digital nomad lifestyle. 🌎

And the term ‘digital nomad’ has changed too – it no longer refers just to influencers, working on a stunning beach and posting pics of their laptop next to a fruity cocktail (although, I admit, I’ve been guilty of doing exactly this in the past!). 

I’ve met so many people from so many different backgrounds who are making money in all kinds of interesting ways, and it’s really made me see just how much opportunity there is for people who want to work and travel in 2022 and beyond. 

💰 Here are just some of the ways the people I’ve met are making money while on the road:

• Having their own business, which they can run remotely
• Working for themselves or as freelancers
• Working on a start-up or app using funding from investors
• By coding, writing, editing, designing, web developing, coaching, accounting, or consulting
• Doing a part-time remote job while studying for a degree
• Working remotely for their company back home (usually in their home country’s time zone)
• Being self-employed but working for one big company client
• Owning e-commerce websites that pretty much run themselves
• And all kinds of other things!

Some of these people are on the road all year round, while some have a home base and go travelling for a few months a year. 

For those who work with companies, some can work remotely the whole year, while others get two or three months a year when they’re allowed to travel and work – and a lot of this has happened since COVID.

So, if you’ve always wanted to try working while travelling but have told yourself it’s not possible, think again. There are all kinds of ways to do it these days, and even if you work for someone else, you’ll never know unless you ask. 

The world has changed so much in a few years, and the ways people are living – REALLY living – has changed too.
